Shoen Uemura Exhibition: Essence of Beauty: 1999, 175 pages, color. Artist Uemura was born in Kyoto in 1933 (Showa 8), her grandmother being Shoen Uemura, a master of beautiful paintings and the first female recipient of the Order of Culture, and her father being Shoko Uemura, a master of flower and bird paintings and also a recipient of the Order of Culture.
