In the late Edo period, rainbow-colored glass appeared in Japan. Among the cut glass created in Japan, Satsuma Kiriko, which was produced by the Satsuma domain in Kagoshima with all its efforts, is most attractive for its harmonious combination of diverse colors and rich patterns.
