The direct purpose of this book is to introduce the nature of the island. Next, we received contributions from four teachers, which made Yakushima even clearer. In other words, Dr. Sumihiko Hatsushima, who is dedicated to researching plants on the island, Dr. Masa Akahoshi, who knows everything about Yakushima and the current state and future of the mountains and the island, Dr. Zenichi Hidaka, a native of the island, provided an overview of the history of the island, and Dr. Hideo Yamamoto, who is dedicated to collecting Kumage materials, wrote a bibliography of literature related to Yakushima.
